PharmaReg & MedDevReg AfriSummit 2026 took an important step toward its Nairobi edition with The Morning Pulse by AfriSummit, an exclusive breakfast gathering held on 2 June 2026 at Emara Ole-Sereni Hotel, Nairobi.

The gathering brought together regulators, regional associations and industry representatives for a focused morning of dialogue and early engagement ahead of the 6th Edition of AfriSummit, which will take place from 28 September to 2 October 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The event was attended by AfriSummit’s Chairman, Dr. Mona Al Moussli, Co-Chairman, Dr. Najiba Al Shezawy, alongside key representatives from Kenya’s healthcare and regulatory ecosystem, including Dr. Nazila Ganatra from the Ministry of Health Kenya and Dr. Paulyne Wairimu from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

Supported by Haleon, VISIOTT | TPS and other partners, the event sparked vibrant, practical conversations on Africa’s evolving pharmaceutical and medical device regulatory landscape, while reflecting the growing importance of Kenya as a meeting point for regulatory dialogue, healthcare innovation and industry collaboration.

A key highlight of the morning dialogue was the formal signing of association partnerships with the Industry Alliance of Health Products and Technologies (KAPI), and the African Pharmaceutical Network. These partnerships will strengthen AfriSummit’s engagement with professional and industry bodies across Africa.

AfriSummit 2026 will feature two dedicated platforms:

PharmaReg AfriSummit will run from 28–30 September 2026, focusing on pharmaceutical regulatory affairs. MedDevReg AfriSummit will follow on 1–2 October 2026, focusing on medical device and diagnostics regulation.

Key focus areas will include regulatory updates from across Africa, harmonisation, local manufacturing, substandard and falsified medicines, bioequivalence, AI & digitalisation, medical device regulation, materiovigilance, IVD regulation and next-generation regulatory approaches.
