From 11-13 October, the World Health Summit 2026 (WHS 2026), held under the theme “From Crisis to Resilience: Innovating for Health”, will take place in Berlin, Germany, and online. Hosted by the World Health Summit, the leading platform for global health, WHS 2026 will convene policymakers, scientists, health professionals, civil society representatives, and private-sector leaders from around the world to spur collaborative innovative solutions for key global health priorities.

Through high-level plenaries, networking, dialogue, and symposia, the meeting will explore how innovation can build resilient, equitable, and future-ready health systems.

Why This Matters

Globally, health systems are struggling under overlapping crises that strain infrastructure, governance, and equity. Africa bears the highest burden of public health emergencies of any region, with over 100 major events reported each year.

As countries work to build more resilient and self-reliant health systems, WHS 2026 provides a platform to shape conversations on the future of global health governance, sustainable financing, pandemic preparedness, innovation, and equitable access to healthcare. This is an opportunity for African leaders, researchers, innovators, and civil society to influence global health priorities, strengthen partnerships, showcase home-grown solutions, and advance a vision of health systems that are resilient, equitable, and responsive to Africa’s realities.
